Director of Sales & Marketing

maude is seeking a commercially-minded Director of Sales & Marketing to lead revenue-driving initiatives across retail, ecommerce, brand marketing, and go-to-market execution during a pivotal stage of growth.

This role will oversee the intersection of sales, retail expansion, marketing, and brand execution as maude enters major national retail distribution, including Target and Ulta Beauty. The ideal candidate is both strategic and operational: someone who can build plans, execute them cross-functionally, and drive accountability across channels.

The Director of Sales & Marketing will work closely with the Founder & CEO and partner across retail, growth, operations, product, and creative to ensure the business is commercially aligned and positioned for scalable growth.

Responsibilities

Sales & Commercial Strategy

  • Develop and execute sales strategies across wholesale, retail, ecommerce, and marketplace channels

  • Partner with retail accounts to support launches, merchandising opportunities, education, and promotional calendars

  • Own forecasting support, sell-through analysis, and channel performance reporting

  • Identify opportunities to drive revenue growth, improve retailer performance, and expand distribution

Go-to-Market & Product Launches

  • Lead cross-functional go-to-market planning for product launches and seasonal campaigns

  • Ensure timelines, deliverables, assets, and channel strategies are aligned across teams

  • Partner with product development and creative to ensure launches are commercially viable and aligned with brand positioning

Brand & Marketing Leadership

  • Oversee integrated marketing initiatives across retail, digital, influencer, email, paid, and PR channels

  • Ensure consistency of brand messaging and customer experience across all touchpoints

  • Support retail marketing initiatives that increase visibility, conversion, and customer engagement in-store and online

Retail & Channel Development

  • Support national retail expansion efforts, including Target and Ulta Beauty

  • Partner with retail teams on education, merchandising, promotional strategy, and in-store storytelling

  • Monitor competitive trends and category shifts across beauty, wellness, and intimate care

Analytics & Operations

  • Analyze business performance across channels and provide actionable recommendations

  • Build reporting frameworks around launches, campaigns, and retail performance

  • Improve internal processes, communication, and cross-functional accountability

Team & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead with a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset in a lean and fast-moving environment

  • Manage external partners, agencies, and freelancers as needed

  • Foster strong communication and accountability across the team

Qualifications

  • 7–10+ years of experience in sales, marketing, brand, or commercial leadership within beauty, wellness, CPG, or premium consumer brands

  • Strong understanding of retail partnerships, merchandising, and multi-channel growth strategies

  • Experience supporting launches at retailers such as Target, Ulta, Sephora, or similar national accounts preferred

  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional go-to-market initiatives

  • Highly organized with strong analytical and communication skills

  • Comfortable operating in a founder-led, entrepreneurial environment

  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to execution
